Send the Details of Your Demolition Project
The quickest route to a real answer about a demolition project is a short message with the address, what you want removed and a few photos. Here is what helps, and what happens after you send it.
Details that help a contractor size up the job
- Where the job is: a street address if you have one, or the city plus two intersecting roads nearby.
- What is coming down: the whole house, a garage or shed, a pool, part of an interior, or a stretch of concrete.
- What has to stay, such as a shared property line, a tree you care about, a driveway or a retaining wall.
- Your timing, and whether a builder, architect or buyer is waiting on the cleared lot.
- Anything you already have on paper: an asbestos survey, a lot survey, or plans for what comes next.
Photos that help most
Phone pictures are fine. Take each side of the structure from far enough back to show the whole wall, then the route a truck would use to reach it, whether that is a driveway, a side yard or an alley. If there is a basement, photograph the walls and floor along with any water staining. For a pool, show the deck, the equipment pad and the gate. For concrete, a shot with a tape measure held across a broken edge shows the thickness. Overhead wires, big trees close to the work and tight gaps between houses are each worth a picture.
What happens next
Edina Demolition is a website that passes your request to a demolition contractor who works Edina and the west metro. That contractor reviews what you sent, gets in touch with any follow-up questions and, if the project fits, arranges a visit. Scope, schedule and price are set by the contractor after seeing the property, and the written proposal comes from them. Sending a request costs nothing and does not commit you to anything.
If you are still working out what kind of job you have, the services page and the service areas page are good places to read first.
